VNU Exhibitions Asia Pacific (VNUEAP) has partnered up with the Thai Cannabis Industry Association (TCIA), which is under formation by industry stakeholders, and will be set up as the Kingdom’s Chamber of Commerce for cannabis and hemp related matters. Stakeholders will include growers, researchers, pharma, laboratories and extraction services as well as testing and measurement.
Along with the country pavilions (Dutch, German, Korean, Chinese and Taiwanese), Horti Asia 2020 will feature a new segment, namely the Medicinal Cannabis Pavilion, in response to the burgeoning cannabis market in Thailand. Organized by VNUEAP, Horti Asia will proceed to its 7th edition on 7-9 May 2020 at BITEC in Bangkok and will continue to be one of the region’s leading trade show for horticultural production and processing technologies, showcasing innovations on seed breeding, irrigation, climate control, fertilizer, and fruit and vegetables processing,
To complement the new show cluster, TCIA is pleased to announce the first agriculture edition of its cannabis event series called CannaGrow Thailand, which will be adjacent to Horti Asia 2020. The 1-day conference held on the 8th of May at BITEC will be a practical learning experience for the future growers and investors in cannabis and hemp as the legal medical marijuana business will evolve in the coming year.
Thailand has legalized medical cannabis usage and is in the process of confirming its regulatory framework. It is expected that the cannabis industry will be a new major tax-revenue for the country, as well as a promising drug in the area of Alzheimer’s, anxiety and pain management. The CBD extraction market is expected to generate many new products and traditional medicine.
The Kingdom’s challenge will be to produce medical grade API’s for production and can become a key player globally. The agricultural development also carries huge opportunities for poverty elevation of small farmers.
CannaGrow Thailand will feature key local and international speakers who will cover issues ranging from seed, nutrition, safety and environmental management as well as social impact and technology applications. Delegates will be able to grow their understanding of the challenges and solutions offered for the various types of farming setup and operational structures. The session will also have several panel sessions discussed the various formats and challenges, and the audience is invited to participate and ask questions to the panelist.
